Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Dovecot Multi Activity Centre (MAC) – Adult education courses

A centre offering range of health, wellbeing and creative activities for the local community.

We offer a range of short-term adult learning opportunities throughout the year. These courses change regularly depending on community feedback, and can range from holistic therapies and creative writing, to healthy cooking and youth and community work.

Early Years, Construction, Hairdressing, Beauty, STLS & Employability.

Information regarding funding for our courses:

  • ​All Courses are ESFA Funded:
  • Traineeship contracts, 16 plus, 19-24,
  • Apprenticeships (Levy)
  • Adult Learner Loans can be applied for through AVCT

Term based courses

  • Beauty (Level 1& 2) age 16+ Fully Funded

Roll on & off courses

  • Hairdressing (Level 1 & 2 Diplomas) age 16+ Fully Funded courses for these levels.
  • Hairdressing (Level 3 Diploma) age 24+ Funding available through Adult Learning Loans.
  • Early Years (Level 2) age 16+ Levy Apprenticeships available, earn whilst you learn, Apprenticeship wage for your age group, on site learning at your Work placement.
  • Early Years (Level 3) age 24+ Funding through Adult Learner Loans.
  • Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools (STLS Level 2) age 16+ Earn whilst you learn, Apprenticeship wage for your age group, on site learning at your work placement.
  • Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools (STLS Level 3) age 24+ Funding through Adult Learner Loans.
  • Construction age 16+ Fully Funded
  • Maths and English Fully Funded
  • Employability 16+ Fully Funded

Monday: 8am – 6pm, Tuesday – Friday: 8am – 4.30pm
How much will it cost me?
The courses are free for those who meet the criteria (there’s no paid version). The Dovecot Lifestyle class prices are generally £3-4 but some may be a more, but they are included in certain Lifestyles memberships

Level entrance and accessible toilets. No car park but drop off point nearby.
