Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Please see the Withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer notice from NHS Digital for more information and guidance.

Frazzled Cafe – Liverpool

A peer support group where people (aged 18+) who are feeling frazzled can meet on a regular basis to talk and share their personal stories.

We are now hosting our peer support meetings online using a virtual meeting room.
Register via our website.

Is it a cafe?

We appreciate that our name may be a bit confusing but no, we do not operate a cafe. Meetings are currently held online. We hold our meetings in the cafe area of select M&S stores (and sometimes in their community rooms if available) but usually when
the cafe is already closed, or about to close, so that it can be a private space.

Frazzled Cafe meeting (go to the booking page)

We hope that everyone attending a Frazzled Cafe meeting will find it a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and there are opportunities for people to socialise more generally before we start and in the break, but Frazzled Cafe meetings differ from traditional
social groups/coffee meetings. They are intended to provide opportunity for people who are feeling frazzled to share how they are feeling in a safe and understanding environment, and therefore follow a structure that we have found helps give everyone a chance
to participate.

Our different Frazzled Cafe meeting types:

A large Frazzled Cafe meeting with Ruby Wax, usually held three times a week, for around 100 people, and which lasts for an hour.

Our Facilitator meetings are held most days of the week for around 12 people and last for an hour.

  • Facilitators have had full Frazzled Cafe training. Most have been with the charity for a number of years and have a professional background in mental wellbeing support.

Our Host meetings are held every day and are for around 12 people, and last for 45 minutes.

  • Hosts joined the charity in Spring 2020 when our meetings first went online. They too have had Frazzled Cafe training and Mental Health First Aid training. Many of our Hosts also volunteer for other mental wellbeing initiatives.

Is Frazzled Cafe just for the 1 in 4 who suffer from diagnosed mental illness?

Absolutely not. Frazzled Cafe is for anyone feeling frazzled and overwhelmed by the stresses of modern life. Frazzled Cafe meetings provide a ‘talk-in’ place where people who are feeling frazzled can meet on a fortnightly basis to talk and share their personal
stories in a safe, anonymous and non-judgmental environment – a place where it’s ok to not be ok.

If you are currently suffering from serious mental illness it may not be appropriate to attend. If you feel you are in crisis, you can find some options for help and support below:

  • Ring SANEline, a specialist mental health helpline –
    0300 304 7000

  • You can ring Samaritans any time – 116 123 – they offer a listening service.
