Referral Form for over 65’s
You can refer older neighbours to any of our programmes (Love Your Neighbour currently not taking new referrals). You can refer yourself or another in just a few minutes, by going to the link below and filling
out the form.
When making a referral please give us as much information as you can – this really helps our team to know what programmes are the right fit when we give older neighbours a call.

Upcoming Virtual Social Clubs
All Together Activities October) back to jump to
Our virtual social clubs are spaces for older and younger neighbours to get together to share time, laughter, learning and experiences together.
online Monday 27th September, 6:00pm – 7:00pm: Virtual trip around the world
Today is World Tourism Day, so let’s go on a virtual trip around the world! We’ll visit the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu in Peru, The Taj Mahal and more, all from the comfort of our living rooms.
tel/online Wednesday 29th September, 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Desert island discs
Note this is in the afternoon, not the usual evening slot. Like the radio show of its namesake, come with a song in mind and the reason behind why you picked it. This month’s theme as chosen by last month’s desert island discs neighbours is ‘cover versions’.
We want your favourite cover songs! Share your song with the group and we will play it out loud for everyone to listen to. Please have a think and let Abbie know what song you’d like so she can create the playlist ready to be DJ for the night. If you have
a landline or mobile you can also join this for free – call us and ask us how if you’re interested.
online Wednesday 29th September, 6:00pm – 7:00pm: Ghost signs – the history of
hand painted advertising with Sam Roberts and East London Cares
Have you ever noticed the faint remains of an advert painted on the side of a building? They’re called ghost signs! Join East London Cares and ghost signs expert Sam Roberts, for a virtual tour of vintage advertising in East London, and the history behind it.
tel/online Thursday 7th October, 6:00pm – 7:30pm: Quiz night
Join over the phone or on zoom for this fun-filled quiz evening! Test your general and musical knowledge with the rest of your neighbours, all you need is a pen and paper for your answers. Who knows you might just win a speedboat or a carriage clock.
tel/online Tuesday 19th October, 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Shared reading
In this club, you’ll come together to read short stories and poems aloud as a group, and analyse the text, sharing what you like and dislike about the story, what you think will happen next, how it made you feel and more! If you want to join in with this club,
let Abbie know and she will send you out the stories and poems in the post. You can also join this club using your landline for free – call Abbie if you’d like to know how.
tel/online Wednesday 27th October, 6:00pm – 7:30pm: Desert island discs

tel/online Thursday 28th October, 6:00pm-7:00pm: The Cares Family Disco,
Liverpool and East London Cares birthday special
It’s Liverpool Cares’ 3rd birthday and East London Cares’ 2nd birthday, so come together to celebrate with neighbours from up and down the country at The Cares Family disco! We’ll be spinning tracks from famous artists who come from Liverpool and East London,
you just need to turn up (virtually) and show us your moves.
Outreach back to jump to
Throughout the year, we work with local partners across the public, private and community sectors, to place ourselves in places that encounter older neighbours at risk of isolation all the time – including chemists, GP surgeries, pubs, betting shops, and
local estates and TRAs.
If you’re over 65 and would like to get involved with our programmes, or would like to make a referral on behalf of someone over 65, please follow this link.
Love Your Neighbour back to jump to
As of 8 September 2021, we have paused referrals for our Love Your Neighbour programme for the time being. This means at present, we are not accepting new referrals for our one to one friendship matching programme.
The Love Your Neighbour programme aims to introduce younger and older neighbours across the city to spend time together one-on-one and enjoy company and conversation. We match up people based on proximity, and try our hardest to bring people together
based on mutual interests to create genuine, long lasting friendships.
With Love Your Neighbour, our volunteers cannot help with practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning or attending doctor’s appointments. Please fill out the online form and one of the team will be in touch.
