Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Please see the Withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer notice from NHS Digital for more information and guidance.

Cycle skills sessions and cycle maintenance workshops

We run 2 hour cycle skills sessions with qualified instructors at 3 levels:

  • Learn to Ride for those who have never learned to ride a bike
  • Traffic Free for those who want to practice their skills like braking, cornering and chaining gear in a traffic free environment
  • Quiet Roads for those who want to gain confidence cycling on the road

We run cycle maintenance workshop about 4 times a year where you can learn how to look after your bike, including how to clean your bike, how to change an inner tube and how to fix minor issues with brakes and gears.

Venue: Greenbank Sports Academy Sports Hall L17 1AG
Pre-booking via the Spond App or mail Helen at info@aigburthcommunitycycleclub.org

Group Rides back to top

We run rides from two hubs – our Aigburth rides start at Greenbank Sports Academy, L17 1AG and another starts from the Florrie, 377 Mill Street L8 4RF (goes to the separate page). If you’re not in both groups on Spond booking app, you’re welcome to join using the group codes GSDOY for Aigburth and JHBIH for L8.

Inclusive Rides back to top

Start point: Greenbank Sports Academy, Greenbank Lane, Liverpool L17 1AG

The Inclusive Rides begin with 30-45 minutes trying out the cycles in the sports hall at Greenbank Sports Academy. This is so that riders can get used to the cycles and practise steering, braking and changing gear.

The ride will then move out to traffic free paths in Sefton Park.

On leaving Greenbank Sports Academy riders can choose to walk their cycle along the pavement to Sefton Park or cycle along the road to the Park accompanied by a ride leader.
