Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Please see the Withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer notice from NHS Digital for more information and guidance.

Body and Soul Pilates: Physio-led Pilates after baby loss

Body & Soul Pilates has partnered with the Alder Centre to provide physio-led Pilates classes for those who have been through still birth or early infant loss.

It is often forgotten or not fully appreciated that women who have sadly lost a baby are still postnatal and experiencing all the body changes that come with pregnancy and birth. These classes provide the opportunity to acknowledge these changes and to focus on postnatal recovery and rehab in a safe and supportive space.

Classes run in six week blocks and include:

  • Pelvic floor reconnection and strengthening
  • Breathing and posture
  • Restoring core strength and optimising physical recovery
  • Education and attention to postnatal issues such as C-Section scar massage, separated abdominal muscles and bladder and bowel function
  • Workshop on return to running and impact activities
  • Supporting mental wellbeing

Classes are small, with a maximum of 4-6 participants, and are followed by optional tea and coffee so there is plenty of opportunity for peer support. In addition, there are Alder Centre staff available throughout to provide emotional support if needed.

There are six blocks of classes run per year. For the dates of the next block please contact the Alder Centre directly.
