Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Please see the Withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer notice from NHS Digital for more information and guidance.

Bridge2 Liverpool

Supports asylum seeker, refugee and local community within the Liverpool area.

Services

English Language Sessions

The inability to communicate in a new country and culture can add unnecessary stress to an already difficult process. We offer free English sessions for refugees and asylum seekers to build more confidence in using English to overcome language barriers, access vital services, and to build community networks where they have resettled. While loneliness and uncertainty are common issues for asylum seekers, our sessions are designed for people to meet one another and build friendships while gaining a greater understanding of language and culture in Liverpool. If you are interested in our services, click the button on this page to register.

Clothing and Toiletries

Through the generous donations from our community, we offer toiletries and other basic needs for asylum seekers and refugees. We bring families and individuals through the “shop” in our building where they can choose clothing, shoes, coats, hats and gloves to add to their wardrobe. We occasionally receive backpacks, bikes, and other specialized items for specific needs within the community. During the COVID-19 pandemic we were able to deliver food and toiletries to more than 250 refugees and asylum seekers in Merseyside on a monthly basis. To learn more about how you can help by donating clothing and toiletries or how to make a monetary donation, click the button on this page.

Coffee and Conversation

Fridays in our centre are very lively! All of our asylum seeker and refugee friends are invited to pop in and enjoy a coffee or tea, and a biscuit while they practice their conversational English with our staff and volunteers. This is a wonderful time for building community and learning more about each other. This is also a good time for people to come and look through our shop for any needs they may have.
