Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Please see the Withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer notice from NHS Digital for more information and guidance.

Different Strokes: Online Exercise Classes After Stroke

Online exercise sessions for people who have had a stroke. Jump to the Information Line and Virtual Meetings page.

Sessions are specifically tailored for stroke survivors and set at five different levels, reflecting the large variations in stroke survivors’ physical condition and mobility post-stroke.

Getting Started

The sessions range from being wholly seated exercises for people who have no or heavily restricted movement, to advanced classes for people who can walk independently for long distances. This gives all stroke survivors the opportunity to undertake a form of exercise which is appropriate to your needs, whilst also providing the possibility of you progressing through the levels in time as your mobility and balance may improve.

There are five levels and for each of the five levels we have developed a programme of 12 sessions.
