Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Please see the Withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer notice from NHS Digital for more information and guidance.

The project uses football as an engagement tool to help break down cultural barriers; creating a safe and welcoming environment for refugees and asylum seekers to play football together.

Welcome Through Football Refugee And Asylum Seeker Football Project

The project delivers weekly football training sessions, football competitions and provides a range of social and educational enrichment opportunities in partnership to help individuals to learn more about what support is available to them.

Support for female refugees and asylum seekers

The charity’s new programme is specifically available for female refugees and asylum seekers who often face issues surrounding faith, migration and gender and can suffer social inequalities in many aspects of their lives, including widespread exclusion from
mainstream sport. Everton in the Community’s ‘Welcome Through Football’ programme aims to overcome these barriers – which prevent accessibility to sport – by providing a culturally sensitive kit, staff, and a suitable environment for women to participate in
regular football training sessions and competitions.

The programme will promote social inclusion and celebrate cultural diversity through the vehicle of football whilst supporting female refugees and asylum seekers to settle in their communities, make new friends and learn valuable life skills.

Everton In The Community Will Also Offer Participants The Opportunity To Access:

  • Health and wellbeing support.
  • Education and training courses.
  • Coaching and referring qualifications.
  • Employment support.
  • Volunteering opportunities.
