Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Healthiness – exercises and fitness classes

Community based health and fitness classes, working mostly with older people and adults with mental health problems.

Exercises are suitable for beginners, new and returning exercisers unless otherwise stated.

ESCAPE Pain arthritis sessions

Due to Government easing of lockdown restrictions we are now ALSO able to offer limited spaces on our face-to-face classes.

We have 3 options available to patients.

  • ESCAPE-Pain SOUTH (Lark Lane) – starts Monday 17th May-Monday 21st June, 1pm-2.15pm (*excludes Bank Holiday on the 31st May),
  • ESCAPE-Pain NORTH (Anfield SCC) – starts Tuesday 18th May-Thursday 17th June, 1pm-2.15pm
  • Virtual ESCAPE-Pain – Starts Tuesday 18th May-Thursday 17th June 4pm-5.15pm

All sessions run for 5 weeks, 2 sessions per week, and last around 80 minutes. Face to face sessions at Lark Lane and Anfield run under current COVID-19 protocols and procedures and are limited in numbers for social distancing purposes.

Patients wishing to access the Virtual classes will need a strong internet connection, email address and have access to the ZOOM call App.

As always face-to-face sessions will be charged at £25 per person, refundable on completion of the course. Virtual classes are free.

Outdoor Classes


  • 50+ Outdoor Boot Camp 4pm Meeting point: Beechwood Road South, Aigburth, L17 6EX. If weather is inclement, class will be online instead via the usual Zoom link. Regular updates on WhatsApp group


  • Walking Group 11.00am in Sefton Park
    Meeting point: entrance gates to the Palm House, L17 1AP

  • Bike rides 1.30pm in Croxteth Park (from 22nd April 2021)
    Meeting point: Service car park of Croxteth Hall. Best access via Flint Drive park entrance, off Croxteth Hall Lane, L12 0HB bikes are available but numbers are limited so please drop us a line at if you’d like to attend and we’ll reserve you a place. If you have your own bike, you’re more than welcome to come along too.


  • Walking Group at 2.00pm in Garston Coastal Reserve
    Meeting point: Coastal Reserve public car park, L19 8LY
