Support for Internet Explorer

It looks like you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. This is now considered ‘end-of-life’, and Microsoft is withdrawing support for it because it uses outdated technology. This means that it will no longer receive important security updates and previous bugs will not be fixed.

This means that the risk and cost are placed on service providers to develop twice for modern browsers and again for Internet Explorer. As free, modern alternatives are available for most platforms it is difficult to justify spending public money on further development.

Please see the Withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer notice from NHS Digital for more information and guidance.

Walking Football

Walking football is just what it sounds like – a standard game of football where players walk instead of run. It is designed to help people get fit or maintain an active lifestyle no matter what their age and fitness, as well as support people getting back into football if they have given it up due to age or injury.

People who play have seen many benefits: lower heart rate and blood pressure, achieving a more healthy weight and improved mobility.

And it’s not just physical health benefits – Walking football also offers social benefits. Players get the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and avoid becoming isolated. Many sessions are followed by social gatherings with food and drink and the chance to have a chat.
